Neolithic Artifacts Discovered in Southern Khorasan Province

BIRJAND The director of cultural heritage of southern Khorasan Province, Abulfazl Mokaramifar said here Monday that over 301 artifacts ranging from Neolithic era to Qajarite dynasty were discovered in the cities of Qa'en, Birjand and Nahbandan. "Over six stages of researchwork was conducted to identify the treasure trove of archeological finds," stated Mokaramifar. "Of the 301 relics, thirty-one have been listed as national artifiacts," the director added.

He said that these include a hill site, an ancient dam, a historical cemetary, a fort, a cave and other historical relics.
