Iranian
archaeological officials report that they have
discovered an ancient Achaemenid inscription
in cuneiform which they have dated to ca. 539-
333 B.C.
The inscription is said to prove that
there was once a royal palace located at the
site of ancient Hegmataneh Hill in the modern
city of Hamedan.
The
contents of the inscription have not yet been
released, but are said to be royal in content.
