Two
Stolen Statues of Persepolis Found in Dashtestan

TEHRAN
-- Two stolen statues from Persepolis were found
in one of the post guards in Dashdestan, Bushehr
Province, Sunday Commander of the Law Enforcement
Forces (LEF) of Bushehr Province Reza Zare'i said.
He
added that the statues include a symbol of
sculptures which are placed on top of pillars in
Persepolis and a statue of wild goat made of gold.
The two statues weigh one kilogram. The ancient
Persepolis ruins are located near Shiraz in Fars
Province.
Zare'i
added that one person, who was to transfer the
statues to Fars Province, has been arrested.
He
said that the statues are currently in Cultural
Heritage Organization of Bushehr Province for
examination and evaluation.
Some
five stolen statues have been found by Bushehr LEF
in Dashtestan in July too.
