TEHRAN
-- The 1900-year-old Kerit Dam in Tabas has been
registered as a national monument. It is one of
the unique dams of Iran.
Kerit Dam is located at the foot
of Kerit Mountain. Research indicates that this
dam was first was built during the Parthian era
and that it has been rebuilt three times, for the
last time in 700 years ago.
A careful examination of the dam
system shows the great skill of its architects and
engineers. The beautiful scenery of the region has
made it a tourist site.
