A
Median dynasty statue was discovered during the
fourth excavation phase in the Uzbeki region of
Savojbolagh.
The 15-cm statue has beautiful
designs and a hat like the Median hats depicted in
Persepolis (Takht-e Jamshid).
The bottom of the statue is
cylindrical and may depict Median clothes. The
statue is thought to be about 2700 years old.
The head of the archaeological
team said that cylindrical statues were popular
all over the Middle East. According to the public
relations office of the Cultural Heritage
Organization, Maad Castle is on top of Uzbeki
mountain. Uzbeki is located southwest of Tehran
near Nazar-Abad in Savojbolagh.
