Two Ancient Sites Discovered Around Tabran Tus Arg

Thursday, 11 January 2001

TEHRAN, Archaeologists discovered two ancient sites around Tabran Tus Arg (fortress), 600 meters from Master Ferdowsi's tomb and 15 kilometers north of Mashhad.

Tabran was one of the districts of ancient Tus where the tomb of Master Ferdowsi rests. Six towers have also been discovered in the region visited by Housing and Urban Development Minister Abdolalizadeh. Also a corridor possibly leading to a military bastion or school or caravansary has also been discovered in the Arg.
