Archaeological
Survey Gets Underway in Kouzaran Desert

TEHRAN
-- An official of the Cultural Heritage Office of
Kermanshah Province, Iraj Jalalvand, said that an
archaeological survey of the Kouzaran Desert got
underway recently.
Speaking
to IRNA, Jalalvand said that the survey is aimed
at obtaining new information about different eras
of the region, including data on regional
demography.
The
survey team plans to prepare a map of the region
to facilitate future operations.
He
said that the survey is being conducted by experts
and archaeologists of the Cultural Heritage Office
of Kermanshah Province.
This
region is of great cultural and historical
importance because of the existence of artifacts
dating back to several historical periods.
