TEHRAN
-- The managing director of the Takht-e Foulad
Graveyard Complex in city of Isfahan has said,
"Approximately 800 tombs of Isfahani nobles,
artists, poets and writers which date back
centuries, have been discovered in Takht-e Foulad.
"The historical cemetery of
Takht-e Foulad contains graves and tombs that are
unique in antiquity and architecture. The
50-hectare complex dates back to the Qajar and
Safavid eras. There are also many exquisite
engravings on the gravestones."
He added that the Isfahani
people consider the graveyard of religious figures
to be a holy place.
The whole complex is estimated
to be worth about 10 billion rials.
He concluded that,
unfortunately, this historical complex has been
affected by corruption.
