Wednesday, 28 November 2001

TEHRAN -- The remnants of the bathhouse in Yazd Province's Great Mosque have been excavated. The bathhouse was built for Amir Jalal Uddin Chakhmaq, the governor of the province in the lunar year 828, and is considered one of the greatest and most beautiful monuments of its day.

The Yazd Cultural Heritage Department has recently uncovered the eastern section of the bathhouse and the excavation will continue until the entire structure is unearthed.
