Thursday, 13 September 2001

TEHRAN Official reports released on Wednesday announced that some 30 stone inscriptions from the post-Sasanian era have been found in Nadoushan, Yazd Province.

The reports added that on these inscriptions, which have been found in the mountains of this district, the images of wild and tame animals such as sheep, goats, horses, dogs, panthers, birds and caravans of camels are depicted.

According to the reports, a human being with a spear in his hand and a sheep resting beside his feet is depicted on one of the inscriptions.

The General Manager of the Cultural Heritage Organization of Yazd Province, Mohammad Hassan Khademzadeh, also verified the reports.

In the beginning of August, ten stone inscriptions were excavated in Nadoushan that were determined to be from the pre-Islamic eras.
