TEHRAN-
The minister of culture and Islamic guidance
attended the opening ceremony of the Achaemenid
Museum in the Persepolis Complex on May 17.
Daggers,
stone dishes, golden furniture, gold and zinc door
decorations, and gold and silver coins from the
Achaemenid era are displayed in this museum.
The
most prominent objects displayed at the museum are
two plaques called Simin and Zarin which were
discovered in 1913 in the Persepolis Complex and
which had been kept at the Tehran National Museum
Several statments of Dariush are inscribed on the
plaques in ancient Persian cuneiform, Babylonian
and Assyrian.
Both
of the plaques were placed in the central hall of
the Apadana Palace during the dedication of
Estakhr City and the Persepolis building.
The
minister of culture and Islamic guidance also
became acquainted with the project to develop the
Persepolis Complex while he was visiting the
museum.
