11
June 2003
Plans
are on the table for the three dimensional mapping of the
entire eastern Apadana staircase in Persepolis. That
follows mapping of part of the staircase using the
photogrammetry technique.
Drawn out on a one-tenth scale, the maps show the height,
width and length of the structure.
The project will get off to a start as soon as the
required fund is provided by the Cultural Heritage
Organization, announced head of the Parse-Pasargad
foundation.
Mohammad Hassan Talebian said the contractors will also
train human resources needed for the implementation of the
project.
He believes training human resources can play a
significant role in preserving the cultural heritage in
Iran.
