If someone discovers an ancient Iranian
artifact in their private property and hands it over to
Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization, the person will
get rewarded, Cultural Properties Department of the
Museums of Cultural Heritage Organization, announced.
"If someone accidentally finds a historical work in
his private property and hands it over to the Cultural
Heritage Organization, he will get paid," the Head
of Cultural Properties Department of the Museums of
Cultural Heritage Organization Masoumeh Mossala
announced.
The reward depends on the discovery. For the found
golden or silver objects a reward worth two times the
weight of the object will be given to the finder.
The person will be paid only if it is proven that the
historical work has been unearthed as a result of
accidental and not illegal digging, Mossala said.
According to Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization law
and the international regulations, the discovered
artifacts will be then considered antique if they age
100 years or more.
