The ancient Gozarkhani citadel dating to
the Achaemenid period entered the list of the national
cultural heritage monuments. The citadel is located on a
sedimentary mountain overlooking the Gozarkhani village
in Firouzkouh in northeastern Tehran.
Remnants of several rooms and reservoir for food can be
seen in the main part of the citadel.
The middle part of the citadel used to house guards and
the army. The upper part of the citadel was where the
ruler used to live.
Tens of architectural works and thousands of porcelains
from the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries dot the eastern
slope of the mountain atop which the citadel sits.
