 31 October 2003

An ancient petrograph bearing themes from the pre-historic times have been discovered in Mian Jolgeh near Neishbur in the northeastern province of Khorasan.

The petrograph carries designs from the pre-historic as well as the historic times. They include abstract, natural etchings.

Preliminary probes indicate the slab of stone may fallen off the mountain as a result of an earthquake.

Extensive studies are underway to find further information about the petrograph.
