archaeological and pathological work on Khaje Mountain in
the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan is due
to kick start in October.
Khwaje Mountain is the sole natural highland in the area
and artifacts found there date back to Ashkanid and
Sasanid dynasties and early times of Islam.
following round of archaeological excavation is aimed at
renovating the mountainous site and collecting historical

of the Cultural Heritage Organization in the province.
The Khwaje Mountain site comprises a palace and temple,
allegedly dating back to the reign of king Gandopahres
(Gondêfar) of House of Suren-Pahlav.
