Iranian “Salt Men” Lived Contemporarily

30 November 2004

The newly designated the "Twin Salt Man" discovered recently, has been contemporary with another salt man whose rather intact body had been discovered earlier in a salt quarry in the Iranian province of Zanjan, experts said.

Following some tests on the outfit of the Twin Salt Man, Dr. Hoshang Sabouti concluded the fabric was woven almost in the same era. He had already conducted similar studies on the first Salt Man’s threadbare attire, discovered a decade ago in the Hamzehlou salt quarry.

“His shirt and trousers are similar to those of the original man in terms of design, color and making,” he said, adding the second guy looks taller than his fellow citizen.
