The latest archaeological studies in Minab in the
southern province of Hormozgan, have led to new discoveries
about its historical areas and peoples’ lives.
The one-month exploration, aimed at identification of the
cultural historical developments and monuments of the area and
providing its archaeological maps, resulted in the actual
identification of 85 historical, cultural and religious
monuments dating back to the Sasanian up to the modern times.
Throughout the season, all the monuments of the region were
surveyed and the historical areas were studied considering the archaeological, environmental, geographical and preliminary
anthropology issues.
Moreover, some items and evidence were found from the Palaeolithic
era, dating back to the presence of the humans there
to the prehistoric times.
Complementary studies in the region are planned to be carried
out in the coming year.
