A
team of Italian experts is in Iran to provide details of a
plan to renovate the Iran National Museum whereas Iran’s
Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) is yet
to announce its agenda to the effect, reported CHN.
Curator of Iran National Museum, Mohammad Reza Kargar,
further said that following administrative changes at the
ICHTO three months ago, the new administration has not yet
announced its policies for developing Iran National
Museum.
He said that according to the earlier accords, Italian
Foreign Ministry has undertaken to refurbish Iran National
Museum as part of its program to develop cultural and
economic cooperation.
“A team of experts from the Italian Foreign Ministry
visited national Museum to calculate the funds needed for
developing Iran National Museum and a five-member team
comprising of an archeologist, a museum expert, specialist
of museum arrangement, interior designer and
representative of Italian Foreign Ministry have currently
began its studies at Iran National Museum,“ Kargar said.
Asked to introduce the Iranian team supervising the
operations of Italian architects, he said that ICHTO
experts including its deputy head for protection and
maintenance affairs, head of the ICHTO’s technical
council, curator of Iran National Museum and an Iranian
architect are working with the Italian team.
He hoped that the new ICHTO administration would announce
its strategy for developing Iran National Museum soon to
enable Iranian specialists to continue cooperation with
the Italian team.
