Iran’s
Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization has agreed to allow the
exhibition Forgotten Empire: The World of Ancient Persia, currently
underway at the British Museum, to be transferred to the Kaisha Foundation
in Spain for another showcase next year, CHTO Director Esfandiar
Rahim-Mashaii announced on Saturday.
Organizers
had said earlier that they were prepared to stage the exhibition in other
cities in order to introduce the world to genuine Iranian culture.
Forgotten
Empire tells the story of the Achaemenid Empire (circa 550-331 BC), which
was the largest empire the world had ever seen at the time.
The
exhibition, which opened officially on September 9, will continue until
January 8, 2006.
