Burnt City Artifacts to Be Displayed

28 September 2005

An exhibition of historical items unearthed from the Burnt City (Shahr-e Soukhtah) in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan will be held at Iran National Museum this November-December, ISNA reported.

The proposal to hold the event was made by the head of Iran National Museum.

The items to be displayed at the event include the famous animated wild goat (Persian desert Ibex) of Burnt City, a skull which had undergone surgery and a wooden play board in addition to other objects unearthed from the historical site.

The same exhibit will later be held in Zahedan and Zabol.

The exhibit will present 150 to 180 antique items.
