Mexico
will next year hold an exhibition of Iranian art
and culture with artifacts dating to as late as
the prehistoric times up to the Qajar era.
Following similar exhibitions such as the one
entitled “7000 years of Iran’s art” touring
through several European countries, including
Austria, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain,
Portugal, and Croatia, Mexican officials showed
great interest in hosting Iranian art and culture.
At the time, however, Iran could not prolong its
artifacts’ stay outside the country, returning
the exhibition home after four years, despite many
countries still eager to welcome it.
Another exhibition of Iranian artifacts that took
the attracted many visitors was that of Iranian
metal works and mining.
Now, Iranian and Mexican officials have finalized
the agreement to hold another exhibition in
Mexico, covering 10,000 years of Iranian art and
culture, from the prehistoric times to the end of
Qajar era
Announcing the news, curator of Iran’s National
Museum, Mohammadreza Kargar, explained that the
agreement also foresees Mexicans’ to lend Iran
artifacts of their ancient civilizations, such as
the Incas and the Mayas.
