Persian Manuscript Kept in Britain

More than 12,000 manuscripts, 30,000 volumes of printed books and 9,000 copies of different Iranian publications are kept in the Britain National Library, an official, working for the National Library said on Monday.

Farzaneh Shadanpour, Head of the National Library development department said most of these books and manuscripts have been written in Asian and African languages.

Iranian manuscripts collection held in Britain National Library contains the manuscripts which are about the Middle-East specially Iran (including Central Asia) and India, she said.

The manuscripts date back to twelve centuries ago, and after that and a majority of them have been written in the fields of humanities and religions.
