Study the Archaeological Excavation of Rahmat Abad

A
scientific phases of archaeological excavation at
Rahmat Abad, an Ancient Hill in Pasargad, Shiraz,
started on Sunday with the cooperation of
international organizations.
Masoud Rezaei Monfared, head of the Marvdasht
Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department, said the
excavation would be carried out in cooperation
with the Pasargad Parseh Research Foundation,
University of Tehran Archaeological Institute and
an international team. He added the operation
would continue in two phases for 70 days.
"The first phase of the project will last 45
days in the form of field excavation," he
said, adding the second phase includes searching
libraries in 25 days. Monfared stated that the
results of the research would be published after
completion.
Rahmat Abad Ancient Hill was registered in thr
National Heritage List in 1976. It is located in
Pasargad town 140 kilometers north of Shiraz in
Fars province.
