Discovery of Unknown Ancient Wall in Arg-e-Bam

07 September 2005

The archeologists discovered, following the examination of the structure of the Arg-e-Bam in Iran, an unknown brick-shaped clay-wall in the south fence of this monument.

The Head of the Arg-e-Bam Rescue Project Eskandar Mokhtari highlighted this piece of news, saying within the performed projects by the Arg-e-Bam Archeology Team in the wake of the identification of the primitive structure of the fence surrounding Arg-e-Bam, a brick-shaped clay-wall with 45-90 centimeters thickness and 250 centimeters height was, during two dowsing operations in two parts of the south fence as well as over the hill's slope, identified on the skirt of the hill close to a ditch.

The archeologists say it is contingent this wall exists along the entire fence and the Arg-e-Bam Archeology Team intends, through the permanence of researching, to come by the primitive structure of this fence.
