Compilation of a comprehensive atlas on ancient Iranian silverware is
currently underway, a project official said.
Quoting Majid Qazian as one of the officials in charge of the project,
"Iran Daily" English-language newspaper wrote Monday that the
scheme is sponsored by Iranian Cultural Heritage and Tourism
Organization's Research Center.
Qazian further said that information has been compiled from different
institutions in the past several years to identify ancient Iranian silver
works and antiquities.
According to him, the atlas contains information about the discovery of
silver ore, exploiting silver mines, processing the ore and making
silverware.
The book would outline the general procedure for processing silver and
manufacturing silverware.
It would provide a list of sliver antiquities and serve as a reference
for future studies.
