Fire Temples Documentary Under Production

18 April 2006

LONDON, (CAIS) -- A historical documentary series titled ’Iran’s Fire Temples’ directed by Hassan Naqashi is currently under production in the central Iranian city of Yazd.

Naqashi told IRNA that Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization ordered the production of a television serial in four episodes.

He noted that part of the documentary will deal with Shiz (Takht-e Soleiman) Fire Temple in West Azarbaijan province.

Other fire temples of Greater Iran such as Arran (nowdays the republic of Azerbaijan) have also been included in the documentary series.

Naqashi said that the material for the TV serial is based on field research and written resources.

“University professors, experts and archaeologists have cooperated in the production of the serial,“ he added.

Naqashi is also working on another documentary titled ’Tishter’ which is about the ’god of rain’ in Iranian mythology and beliefs about rain in desert regions.
