LONDON,
(CAIS) -- Police Department of Ilam province succeeded in
confiscating five unique bronze goat-like shape statues dating back to the first
millennium BCE from an antique smuggler.
Announcing
this news, Mohammad Naserifar, director of the preservation department of the
Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department of Ilam province told CHN that these
artifacts were surrendered to this Department after they were confiscated by the
police forces.
He also declared that Ilam’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department is
following up with the case as it filed a lawsuit against the smuggler. “We are
waiting for the court’s ruling,” said Naserifar to CHN.
Restorations are currently underway on these statues and they are expected to be
transferred to the anthropology museum of Ilam later to be displayed for public
