LONDON,
(CAIS) -- Arrangements for specifying the route to be
used by visitors to Persepolis (Takht-e Jamshid) historical site have been
delayed due to financial reasons.
The arrangements were envisaged to protect the historical site from damages
arising from erosion caused to the surface of the monuments by the people
visiting the monuments of Persepolis, said Persian Service of CHN.
Director of Persepolis historical complex Maziar Kazemi said that agreements on
the project have been signed, but, its implementation needs financial support
which has not yet been provided.
The
magnificent monument was built in 518 BCE. The compound is a major tourist site
in view of its prestigious monuments and museum.
He said that publishing house of Parse and Parsargad Research Foundation was
established in Persepolis this year and tourist pamphlets have been printed.
Kazemi added that funds for developing the cultural sites used to be provided
each year during the month of June, but, the cultural heritage and tourism
organization has not provided credits for arranging the compound to specify the
routes that tourists will take while visiting the site.
