Most of Kuhdasht Archaeological Sites are Partho-Sasanian

LONDON,
(CAIS) -- (By Ashkdokht Suren-Pahlav from
Tehran) -- Preliminary
researches in the Kuhdasht region, have confirmed most of the archaeological
mounds belong to the Parthian and Sasanian dynastic eras.
“Currently we are conducting research in Konan, Tarhan and Darb-e Gonbad, and have managed to identify well over 100 historical sites. These sites including, prehistoric caves and archaeological mounds containing stuccos with geometrical designs”, Dehghanifar the head of Kuhdasht archaeological research team told news-reports.
“Due to the application of gypsum, usage of stucco and recovered potteries, we can date the identified sites to the Parthian and Sasanian dynasties”, he added.
With reference to architecture remains he believes they were Chahr-Taghi fire-Temples, as shows in the above picture.
"The progress of our works have been adequate. Due to the recent discoveries,
we are no longer able to ignore the importance of Kuhdasht, and I am sure the
continuous archaeological research will confirm the importance of the
region during the Parthian and Sasanian dynasties", Dehghanifar concluded.
