LONDON, (CAIS) -- A team of Iranian archaeologists plans to begin excavating strata beneath the 16th century Portuguese castle in the port of Kong near Bandar Lengeh for possible remnants of one of the lost Achaemenid cities next week.

to a number of historical documents, the Achaemenid dynasty had established 12
cities in the region in The
archaeologists say the remnants of the cities may be buried in silt under the
waters of the The
