LONDON, (CAIS) -- Head of the Burnt City (Shahr-e Soukhte) international archaeological group Mansour Seyed-Sajjadi said here Thursday that the national archaeological group and three non-Iranian archaeological groups participate in the 10th phase of excavations.
The excavations are currently underway in the historical site of Burnt City situated 55 kms from the provincial city of Zabol.
He stated that archaeologists from the French University of Renne, the British University of New Castle and Rome Center of Oriental Art participate in the excavations.
"The experts involved in the ongoing operations, conduct research in the domains of plant archaeology, climatology, geophysics and maladies of the residents of Burnt City.
"Besides, some students from Zabol and Zahedan universities cooperate with the Iranian archaeological group," he added.
