(CAIS) -- High Administrative Islamic Court has
issued an injunction against the nation, and in favor of
the private owner of a hotel built near Eshgaft-e Salman
historical site in Khuzestan province, putting at risk the
registration of the structure on the global cultural
Eshgaft-e Salman is the venue of the largest cuneiform
inscription which dates back to the Elamite era.
According to Persian service of CHN, the institute’s
action follows a delay in submitting the case by the
provincial Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism
Head of the department, Sadegh Mohammadi claimed the owner
has made changes in the documents he has presented to the
court. He called for reviewing the case once again.
Experts maintain that the existence of the hotel is a
barrier to the registration of the monument on the global
cultural heritage list.
