LONDON,
(CAIS) -- Geophysical studies in the
archaeological site of Halqeh Desert in Minudasht, eastern Golestan province,
have resulted in the discovery of buried structures dating back to the Sasanian
dynastic era (224-651 CE).
According to CHN, the structures lie in an area of 328 hectares and are in
irregular octagonal shapes.
Babak Aminpour, an archaeologist, said that builders of the structure might have
used brick as the major construction material in the edifice.
Experts have so far studied the geophysics of only six hectares of Halqeh
Desert.
