(CAIS) -- The managing director of Fars province Water Company falsely claimed
that based on the outcome of a meeting held in Tehran in January ,
excavations conducted so far in Sivand Dam are sufficient and there is no need
for fresh undertakings.
This conflicting statement was indeed issued in contrary
to the summit statement on 21st
January, which was declared inconclusive.
According Khalil Rezaeian at a gathering of
farmers from Arsanjan village in Fars province, who urged the commissioning of
Sivand Dam, “I will convey your request to the relevant ministry.“
further said that the dam aims to supply water demands of the region because the
area faces acute water shortage.
In a theatrical show in front of the regime's provincial Water Company, around 500 participants
gathered by the regime, demanded for the inundation of the dam.
This is while the Iranian, international community, experts and institutions have
called for delaying the commissioning of the dam on grounds that if it becomes
operational, Iran’s most revered monuments at the Pasargadae, will be threatened.
