100,000-year
old knife discovered in Iran

29 July 2007

LONDON,
(CAIS) -- Iranian
and Korean archeologists have discovered a 100,000-year-old civilization in the
city of Roudbar located in the north of Iran.
Six Iranian archeologists in cooperation with nine Korean archeologists
undertook a discovery project in the northern province of Iran 10 days ago.
The archeologists could unearth a stone tool, which looked like a knife. The
experts estimated the stone knife to date back to at least 100 thousand years.
This is a sign of existence of a civilization in that area. The archeologists
are to continue the task until August 16 in the ancient cities of Roudbar,
Roudsar and Siahkal, according to a report by Persian service of IRINN.
